Abstract

The article offers information on research that tested the clinical utility of genotype-guided or pharmacologically based dosing of warfarin in small clinical trials or observational studies. The trial involved 1015 patients who were assigned to the use of either a genotype-guided algorithm or a clinically guided algorithm for warfarin dosing during the first 5 days. No significant difference in the percentage of time in the therapeutical international normalized ratio range was found.
