Abstract

The article presents a comparative study which statistically analyzes the visual and refractive outcomes of femtosecond lenticule extraction (FLEx), a form of refractive eye surgery, and smallincision lenticule extraction (SMILE), a form of flapless corneal refractive surgery, in myopia and compares the effectiveness of the two surgeries in myopia. The study concluded that both FLEx and SMILE were beneficial in all measures of safety, efficacy and stability in the treatment of myopia.
