- Examines `Beur' culture on the basis of the differing discourses about it from the media, sociology and fiction. Theoretical approach of the relationship between discourse and culture; Argument of `Beur' culture as being found in the competition among the discourses; Starting notion of `Beurs' as halfway between French and Arab or France and the Maghreb; Discourses' use of `departenance' or refusal to define's one's identity.
