Abstract
- The article focuses on the contributions of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) Intramural Research Program (IRP) and inventions from public-sector research institutions (PSRIs) to the development of drugs and biologics approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It presents an analysis of products developed from inventions from the PSRI, their public health impact, and characterization of drug products.
