Abstract
- The article profiles singer Rose Maddox who grew up surrounded by music and poverty. It states that Maddox was popular as a solo singer and as part of the family band the Maddox Brothers and Rose. It tackles the challenges that Maddox's encountered with the family band as well as her relationship with her mother. It explores Maddox's married life as well as her failure to make much money. It notes that Maddox died in April 1998 after several bouts of ill health.
