Highlights: [•] Textural/catalytic properties of Mo/mesoporous lamellar zeolites were investigated. [•] Mesopore facilitates dispersion of Mo species in zeolite catalysts. [•] Higher aromatic and coke formation was observed in the initial reaction stage. [•] Mo-acid species in mesopores account for fast reaction and deactivation rates.
