Abstract

The article offers information on the flooding of the Ohio River at the Cache River Valley in south Illinois in the later part of April ad early part of May in 2011. It mentions that the flood is caused by the early snowmelt and heavy rains at the eastern part of Ohio Basin and it resulted to the rise of Ohio River's gage to 18.7 meters. Moreover, the counties affected by the flood and the geological attributes of the Cache River Valley are also stated.
