An ecologically based landscape classification system for monitoring and assessment of pastures.

The article offers information on the ecological landscape classification system, ecological site descriptions (ESD), in the assessment and monitoring of pastures. The ecological framework and rangeland experience of ESD are also stated. Moreover, the present status of the classification of pasture and the methods needed to efficiently implement ESD are also discussed.
