Abstract
- The article reports on the findings of a study in Finland about the risk factors for genital human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. The study, conducted by researchers at Kuopio University Hospital in Kuopio, Finland, found that having multiple sexual partners is strongly associated with HPV infection. Participants in the study, which included women who had had Pap smear at communal health centers, completed a questionnaire about their gynecologic and obstetric history, medical history, history of sexually transmitted diseases, and smoking habits. The results of the study, which varied with age, are discussed.
