Abstract

Shows that Fnr protein is essential for the activity of the N-truncated NifA protein of herbaspirillum seropedicae in an escherichia coli background. Effect of lack of Fnr on NifA protein's susceptibility to degradation; Relation of oxygen sensitivity and iron requirement for Herbasprillum N-truncated NifA activity to Fnr protein activity; Involvement of Fnr in aerobic-to-anaerobic switch.
