Abstract

The article focuses on issues concerning the high rates of incarceration among female offenders in the U.S. Issues being highlighted include women on probation and parole as well as justice-involved women, who experience disproportionately high levels of victimization, substance use, and mental health problems. The creation of more effective intervention strategies to reduce recidivism among female parolees and probationers is mentioned.
