Abstract
- The article looks at electronic books (e-books) at libraries, as of 2014. It discusses the efforts of a coalition of public library systems, the ReadersFirst coalition, to work with publishers and e-book vendors to increase the availability and convenience of e-books for library users. Topics include e-book lending platforms from the firms OverDrive, 3M, and Baker & Taylor, the integration of e-book information into libraries' online public access catalogs (OPACs), and academic libraries.
