Abstract

The article discusses special libraries, which are libraries that specialize in specific subject matters, and focuses on ways to communicate the worth of these institutions. Reports on the value of special libraries from the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and the Special Libraries Association (SLA) are discussed. Other topics discussed include the return on investment (ROI) of health libraries in Australia and library users' thoughts on the effectiveness of the libraries.
