The article reports on a roundtable discussion called "The Arctic and Russia's National Security Interests" that was held in Moscow, Russia in January 2014. Several issues addressed included security threats emanating from Russia's northern borders, projects to be focused on and the top priority of Russia's Defense Ministry for 2014. These include the development of military infrastructure in the Arctic, a strategic deployment of the Armed Forces and the restoration of several airfields.
