Abstract
- The article discusses the idea of personal information about a library patron being available to others. Topics discussed include ambiguity about meaning, ubiquitous information technologies, and demands for improved efficiency, and libraries have faced the challenge of managing patron confidentiality, and librarians serve as the custodians of patron privacy. Other topics discussed include citation of the book "Privacy in the 21st Century: Issues for Public, School and Academic Libraries".
