Abstract
- The article discusses the use of the data-based individualization (DBI) model as an educational intervention for U.S. special education students with significant behavioral difficulties, including emotional disturbance (ED). Topics discussed include the work of the U.S. National Center on Intensive Intervention (NCII), the multitiered intervention approaches used by many U.S. schools to deal with students behavioral difficulties, and the use of the mentoring program Check In/Check Out (CICO).
