In this article, finished in April 2013, the author comments critically some of the most controver-sial rules contained in the newly promulgated re-gulations for the Peruvian Data Protection Law. He regrets, especially, and in response to the drafting work of the Ministry of Justice reflected in those regulations, the absence of a conscious and official attention on the importance of the protection of informational self-determination in the countries where, like Peru, remain unsolved serious social issues, such as discrimination.
