Abstract
- The article discusses the Louisiana Supreme Court's ruling in the 2010 case Cheramie Services v. Shell Deepwater Production which deals with conspiracy claims and private actions under Louisiana's Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Act (LUTPA). The U.S. Federal Trade Commission Act and deceptive business practices are mentioned, along with summary judgments and breach of contract claims. According to the article, the Louisiana Legislature enacted the LUTPA in 1972.
