Abstract

Discusses experiments which examine form-priming effects in neighborhoods in which density has been manipulated either in terms of letter units or in terms of subsyllabic units. Concept of orthographic neighborhood; Use of monosyllabic nonwords as primes; Occurrence of priming for targets with low-frequency bodies; Definition of neighborhood density in terms of individual letter and subsyllabic units.
