Mechatronics has entered the level of application in bogies of standard railway vehicles. Based on experience from approx. 20 years of development, as well as on a self-developed me-chatronical kit-set, Bombardier supplies vehicles of different kind with mechatronical applications, which are configured out of a set of standard components. Some of the functionalities are tilting, active suspension and condition monitoring for the bogies. But this is only the top of the iceberg. The future is a wide, complex evaluation of the collected data which enables additional functionalities, like the monitoring of the track con-ditions as an add-on. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
