Early in the middle Ades Samarkand being the centre according to politikal structure Sogd had confederation sustem including Panch (Panjikent,) Maymurg, Kabudan, Kushoniya (Kattakurgon), Kesh (Shakhrisabz,) Nakhshab (Qarshi) and about ten neighboring towns and several small countries, those small countries were united more culturally than politically.
