- Reports that Michigan-based Court of Appeals has cleared newspapers `Detroit News' and `The Detroit Free Press' of a libel suit under the state's broadened fair reporting privilege law. Case stemming from the newspapers' coverage of a gang-related shooting; Failure to prove that the articles were materially false.
