Abstract

The article reports that U.S. Internet companies including Google Inc. claim telecommunications firms in Turkey have been effectively censoring them in late March 2014 by impersonating their servers, thus blocking users' access to them. Google's YouTube video Website and Twitter Inc.'s microblogging service, both of which have been used by political opponents of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, were among Websites targeted during local elections in Turkey.
