Enclathration by a Xanthenol Host: Structures, Kinetics of Formation and Guest Exchange.

The host compound 9-(3-trifluoromethyl)-9 H-xanthen-9-ol forms inclusion compounds with acetone and tetrahydrofuran. The structures of the inclusion compounds have been elucidated. The kinetics of enclathration as well as those of guest exchange with dimethylsulphoxide, have been analysed.
