Abstract

The creep failure of the tubes of the vapor generators are present in the almost of the thermoelectric power stations, for this reason, a great quantity of investigators from all over the world is being in charge of the study of the useful life for creep in the tubes of the generators of vapor with the purpose of to minimize the mishaps and to reduce the expenses. The direct and immediate consequence, when failure tubes exist, it is the progressive increase of the quantity of water demineralized that feeds to the boilers that which is explained because this flaws in the tubes produce flight or escape of water that it doesn't finish the process of formation of vapor. Therefore, the mishaps cause losses for unavailability and other losses associated with the repair of the failure in question, diminishing the efficiency of the installation. In the Thermoelectric Power Station "Carlos Manuel de Céspedes" of Cienfuegos is quantified for separate all the expenses in that they are incurred. In this paper it is sought to consider different economic aspects that should be included in the valuation of the cost of the flaw of a tube of the wall of water. Once one has certain the unitary cost of a flaw can be considered to as much as it has ascended the expenditure in foreign currency for concept of flaws tubes of the walls of water, for each one of the Japanese units, in those more than 30 years that one has registered these mishaps.
