Abstract
- The article reports that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is considering a trial program in which the trading of selected stocks would be free of so-called maker-taker fees, which are a major source of revenue for stock exchanges and some high-frequency trading companies. Investment-management firm BlackRock Inc. has said the fees present a conflict of interest to brokerage firms.
