Abstract: The article presents information on ABDO Conference held in Great Britain in 2014 for opticians. Topics discussed during the event include cost pressures being faced by optical practices, devaluation of the profession of optician by free eye tests, and bypassing of full eye exams by patients due to the availability of cheap ready-readers and internet spectacle sales.
