Abstract

In this article the author discusses the politicization of environmental protection. The author wonders when protecting planet Earth for future generations became a partisan issue and why greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4), have continued to increase. Topics include the need for unprecedented steps toward carbon reduction, the abandonment of fossil fuel consumption in the U.S., and the poem, "Imagining," by Eileen Rockefeller.
