Abstract

Highlights: [•] Antidepressant effects are mediated by 3-furan-2-yl-N-p-tolyl-acrylamide (PAM-2) after subchronic and chronic treatments. [•] This is the first time that an antidepressant activity is described for an α7 PAM. [•] The observed chronic and residual (i.e., after withdrawal) antidepressant activities are gender-dependent.
