A rapid herpetofaunal assessment of Nosy Komba Island, northwestern Madagascar, with new locality records for seventeen species.

The article presents a study which aims to increase the knowledge on the herpetofauna of Nosy Komba, northern Madagascar and help future environmental management to protect the distinct insular fauna and flora. It states that 26 species of reptile and six species of amphibian were discovered in a rapid assessment of the herpetofauna on the offshore island of Nosy Komba. It is inferred that the small island needs tighter protection of its forests in the future.
