With each passing day the Spanish economy is showing ever greater signs that it has moved out of recession and is now embarking on a new upward climb. The forecasts for this year all point to growth of over 1%, the reactivation of the labour market and a more favourable perception of the country in international markets and one reflected by improved debt classification and greater foreign investment. However, while the recession may have been left behind we cannot be said to have totally overcome the economic crisis until Spain starts to create net employment at a sufficient rate to offset the dramatic level of unemployment.
