Abstract
- Highlights: [•] We investigated the possible adverse effects of traffic-related PM2.5 on nematodes. [•] Prolonged exposure to low concentrations of PM2.5 caused adverse effects on nematodes. [•] Prolonged exposure to PM2.5 caused adverse effects on progeny of exposed nematodes. [•] The PM2.5 toxicity was only partially recovered in progeny of exposed nematodes. [•] Intestinal barrier and defecation behavior contributed to PM2.5 toxicity formation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
