Abstract: The article offers information on the interest of researchers in nanostructured cellulose materials called nanocellulose, the fibrous cellulose matrices that provide mechanical strength to wood and plants. It discusses a conference of the Technical Association of the Pulp & Paper Industry (TAPPI) held at Vancouver, British Columbia, in June 2014. It further discusses several studies associated with the potential applications of nanocellulose, including electronics and tissue engineering.
