Ideologies of Empire in the Modern World.

The article presents a report from a January 8-10, 2014 conference in Florence, Italy organized by the Imperial History Working Group historical society on the historical ideologies of imperialism. Topics of presentations delivered included international cooperation in the founding of the Institute Colonial International imperialism society in Brussels, Belgium, humanitarianism in 20th-century Chinese charitable organizations, and colonial conflict in French Algeria following World War I.
