Abstract

The author offers his view on an article by Christopher Peacocke on interpersonal self-consciousness that dissects the inner structure of various situations of conscious social interaction. He believes that the paper by Peacocke is but one part of a project mapping out various elements of the nature of first person self-consciousness. He also notes the emergence of concerns with the centrality of the form of interpersonal self-consciousness which exploits mutual awareness.
