Abstract

The article discusses the Qatari government's Aspire Football Dreams program, a soccer scouting and training initiative in which many African players were scouted to be trained at Qatari academies, highlighting Qatar's placement of its Aspire Academy players with the K.A.S. Eupen professional soccer team in Belgium after purchasing the team. Topics addressed include Qatar's efforts to improve its national reputation in soccer, as well as the reception of the African players amongst Eupen fans.
