Abstract
- The article examines the use of electronic warfare and radar on fighter aircraft. It discusses a defensive engagement from the Operation Allied Force in Serbia in 1999 wherein the limitations of legacy fighter aircraft were demonstrated. It explores the trends in the integration of sensors on fighter aircraft's mission systems, the data fusion between all onboard sensors, and electronic warfare suites. It also discusses the upgrades of the U.S. Air Force's fighter aircraft.
