Abstract: Presents a study which sought to examine disease associations of Human T-cell lymphotroptic viruses (HTLV)-II. Matching of HTLV-II-seropositive emergency room and clinic patients by age, sex and clinic to HTLV-I/II-seronegative patients; Review of medical records blinded to HTLV-II status; Comparison of `International Classification of Disease 9th Clinical Modification' (ICD-9CM)-coded diagnoses between seropositive patients and controls; Results obtained.
