Abstract: Examines the effect of space charge and the resulting electric fields on the trajectories of high energy electrons during irradiation of planar polymethylmethacrylate shields. Penetration of high energy electrons through slab shields; Decrease in flux of high energy electrons in some regions of materials; Enhanced shielding effectiveness of space charge and the resulting electric fields.
