Abstract

The paper considered to extract, isolate and identify alkaloids in Leonurus heterophyllus. The total alkaloids in Leonurus heterophyllus was extracted by 1% boiling hydrochloric acid solution. After alcohol precipitation, acid precipitation was caaried out. Then the concentrate of alkaloids from Leonurus heterophyllus was further isolated and purified by means of 732 cation exchange resin. This thesis identified alkaloids in Leonurus heterophyllus initially by means of precipitation of alkaloids, thin layer chromatography and UV spectral scanning in three solvents, which were 70% ethanol, 0.5% hydrochloric acid methanol, and methanol. The alkaloids in Leonurus heterophyllus was eluted by the 5% ammonia and 70% ethanol, respectively, then was dried. The two dried alkaloids were expanded on the silica gel thin-layer board, whose situations were basicaaly the same, and their UV spectrum disolved in the three solvents was also consistent. The two alkaloids eluted with 5% ammonia and 70% ethanol might be derived from the same ingredients and contain the same substance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
