Abstract
- The article presents a study on the impact of autologous priming on blood conservation in patients after cardiac surgery. Topics include the need for alternative perfusion techniques to lower hemodilution, the effectiveness of a protocol of retrograde autologous prime (RAP) and venous antegrade prime (VAP), and the increase in postoperative hematocrits. It also discusses the use of a retrospective review to examine patients' data on their surgeries.
