Abstract
- The article discusses the impact that participation in World War I (WWI) had on Canada. Topics include how many young men who fought in the war did not return home, causing many small towns such as Mountsberg to shrink and eventually disappear, the contemporary Canadian attitude toward large and small scale military sacrifice, and how WWI changed the relationship between Canadians and the government.
