Abstract
- The article focuses on the decrease in the rates of female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage reported in the United Nations Children's Fund's (UNICEF) annual report released on July 22, 2014. Topics include how FGM and child marriage impact women and how both prevent women from obtaining an education. A map showing the prevalence of FGM in Africa and the Middle East in 2014 is presented.
