Abstract
- The article reports that exchange operator BATS Global Market Inc. is nearing a settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission over allegations of unfair advantages having been given to high-speed traders. At issue is conduct at Direct Edge Holdings LLC, an exchange BATS combined with in 2013. In July of 2014 BATS dismissed president William O'Brien, who had previously been in charge at Direct Edge.
