Abstract
- The article discusses the importance of recognizing secretory hyperresponsiveness as a distinct clinical condition for effective management of the disease including pulmonary mucus hypersecretion. It discusses the different types of patients with greater mucus secretory responses including those with middle lobe syndrome, cough-dominant asthma and severe asthma. It also discusses the possible causes of extreme forms of secretory hyperresponsiveness such as lung cancer and plastic bronchitis.
