Abstract
- Background and Objective: There are many methods for radiographic view. The objective of this study is the comparison of numbers of proximal caries levels seen in film, paper print and monitor. Subjects and Methods: In this descriptive and analytic study, a total of 93 posterior bitewing radiographs of maxillofacial radiology department patients were selected. Three maxillofacial radiologists as observers in separation with 2-week intervals compared the numbers of proximal caries seen in film, paper print and monitor. Observer's Results analyzed with Friedman and Wilcoxon test. Results: Friedman test results showed significant differences between three methods (P<0.001). The Wilcoxon test results were not significantly different between printing paper and monitor (P> 0.05), but the comparison of film method with any of the two other methods showed significant differences(P <0.001 ). Conclusion: The average number of caries using paper print and monitor methods were not significantly different, but the comparison film method with any of the two other methods showed significant differences.
