Abstract

The article discusses a study which examined the role of darbepoetin alfa (DA) in improving the quality of life (QoL) of cancer patients with anemia. Topics discussed include treatment of chemotherapy-induced anemia in non-myeloid cancer patients, measurement of QoL using the Linear Analog Scale Assessment (LASA) and Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy-Fatigue (FACIT-F) questionnaires, and the increase in the hemoglobin levels of patients treated with DA.
