Misdiagnosis and a Suicide Attempt: The Importance of Accurate Evaluation and Treatment.

A case study of a 16-year-old boy diagnosed attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) with a history of depression is presented. Topics discussed include evaluation of adolescents with multiple symptoms for depression, symptoms of paranoia or auditory hallucinations, and importance for accurate evolution of symptoms for preventing suicide.
