The classical limit of the quantum theory of ultralocal scalar fields is approached with the help of coherent state techniques. In the limit h→0, it is demonstrated that the coherent state expectation value of the Heisenberg field operators coincide with the solutions of the corresponding classical canonical equations of motion.
