Violent Overthrow of the Romanian Government in 1989: Taking a Detour from the Eastern European Transformation.

The article discusses a paper to be presented in the meeting of the U.S. Western Political Science Association as of February 2012, concerning why was the 1989 revolution in Romania for transitioning to democracy contrasted with the peaceful revolutions in other Eastern European countries in 1989 or before 1989. It discusses several topics including foreign aid and human rights in Romania which may be responsible for 1989 revolution. Also presented are two surveys in Romania regarding the same.
